What we actually do
Sustainable travel at Quality Hosts Arlberg
At Quality Hosts Arlberg, we put into practice what others only talk about: a shared vegetable garden, our own renewable energy community, actively encouraging our guests to arrive by train, and close cooperation with regional tourism policy.
1. What does Quality Hosts Arlberg actually do for sustainable travel?
At Quality Hosts Arlberg, we run our own energy community, a shared vegetable garden and potato field, and work with a farmer from Stanz who supplies us through the summer. Guests arriving by train or public transport receive breakfast free of charge on their arrival day. We are currently building photovoltaic systems and testing a composting facility at one of our properties.
2. Is a car-free holiday in St. Anton possible?
St. Anton is well connected to public transport, making it an ideal base for a car-free holiday. Local buses are free for our guests, and there are good connections to Lech and Zürs. You can find current bus and train timetables here.
3. How can you travel sustainably as a guest of Quality Hosts Arlberg?
St. Anton has its own train station with excellent international connections. Arrive by train, use the free local public transport once you're here, and we'll treat you to breakfast on your arrival day. Before and after your stay, you can also store your luggage with us, so even your journey to and from St. Anton can be entirely car-free.
4. Where in the Arlberg region can you experience this?
There are numerous accommodations across the Arlberg region committed to sustainable travel — through eco-friendly construction, renewable energy, or particularly resource-conscious offerings. At Quality Hosts Arlberg, we put this into practice through our own energy community, a shared vegetable garden, and by actively encouraging guests to arrive by train. A stay at one of our 14 family-run properties becomes more than just a holiday — it becomes a contribution to the region.
5. What does Quality Hosts Arlberg do for the region beyond its own properties?
We support a local reforestation project, sponsor equipment for the local girls' football club, and have funded an instrument for the local music association. Our engagement isn't limited to our guests — it extends into the community we're part of.
6. What effect does this have on body and mind?
A holiday spent in nature has a positive effect on both body and mind. Consciously slowing down and immersing yourself in nature reduces stress and boosts overall wellbeing. Activities like hiking support physical health, while contact with the natural surroundings has a calming effect on the mind.
