Road cycling: passes for strong legs
The Arlberg is a place of longing for anyone who loves a contest with the contour lines. From our houses you can reach some of the most beautiful climbs in the region: the ascent over the Hahntennjoch is one of Tyrol's great hairpin dreams, the ride up to the Kaunertal Glacier ranks among the most demanding alpine passes of all with its endless switchbacks, and those who want to push on further can roll over the Arlberg Pass towards Vorarlberg and all the way down to Lake Constance. Every one of these routes repays the effort with breathtaking panoramas.

Climbing and via ferratas: head for the heights
St Anton is a name to be reckoned with not only in winter – the region enjoys an international reputation among climbers too. The famous Arlberg via ferrata runs for around three kilometres and climbs to almost 2,500 metres, counting among the finest yet most demanding iron ways in the Alps. The airy ups and downs across the Knoppenjochspitze, Lisunspitze and Weißschrofenspitze call for stamina, a head for heights and the right equipment, but reward you with a panorama stretching from the Lechtal Alps to the Silvretta. The easiest way to reach the start is via the Galzig and Valluga cable cars.
If you'd rather take things a little more gently, the climbing garden in the Schnanner Klamm gorge is the place for you. Surrounded by rushing torrents and waterfalls, it offers numerous fully bolted routes of moderate difficulty – you don't need to bring your own protection, which makes it especially easy for beginners to get started. Families will find a one-of-a-kind experience high among the treetops at the high ropes course in the Verwalltal, and should the weather ever fail to play along, the arl.park climbing hall is the cosy meeting point for all climbing fans.

Water sports: following the water
When the sun is high, the cool water beckons. In and around St Anton you can experience the element of water in all sorts of ways – sometimes gentle, sometimes wild. Rafting on the rivers of the Stanzertal has something for everyone, from a relaxed family outing to a sporty white-water run, while canyoning lets you follow the water's course through unspoilt gorges and over rushing cascades.
